Olympic Star Beach Hotel

My family and I stayed at the Olympic Star for the 6th time and we are always happy to return to this hotel. That speaks volumes for its quality. The hotel is impeccably clean, the rooms are spacious, large and nicely decorated. Impeccable cleanliness and hotel staff are the hallmark of the hotel. The friendly staff starting with Dimitra and Christos at the reception who go out of their way to meet you in everything and the services in the restaurant and the beach bar give you a feeling of comfort and help your vacation to be relaxed, which is why you are always happy to return to this place. For us, this hotel always has the highest rating.

There are 3 things you should know before you will book your stay in this hotel. Otherwise our holidays at Olympic Star in summer 2022 were excellent. 1) There is loud techno party every saturday and sunday on the beach. There is a crazy DJ who turns volume up and if you like your ears, you simply cannot stay there. On the other hand, the beach is overcrowded by youngsters every weekend, so even if there were several claims by hotel guests for loud music, situation didnt changed during 2 weekends we were there. The income of hotel beach bar from youngsters during weekends is obviously more important than satisfaction of the hotel guests. So if you dont like loud techno or disco music, you should book stay outside weekends or plan different programme for the weekends. Mon-Fri it is standard beach with excellent service. 2) This was our 5th stay in Nei Pori in the last 20 years, but first time in this northern part. We were little bit surprised, that the sea is not so shallow as in the southern part od Nei Pori and there is about 1m of gravel at the entrance to the sea amd in 5 meters the depth is more than 1,5m. Meaning it is not so comfortable as on the southern part. But there were lot of families with kids without problem. Our 3 years old daughter was more than happy anyway. Sea is very clean (blue flag) as usual in Greece. 3) Some double rooms are situated close to the neighbourhood apartments (balconies in distance of approx. 2 metres), meaning that guests from apartments can watch you every morning during their breakfast on the balcony. To avoid this book more expensive sea side rooms, we did and we were very satisfied. Now follows only positives: 1) The hotel is recently refurbished in quite good standard. Rooms are spacious and the noise insulation between rooms is excellent. Each room has balcony, beds were very comfortable. The aircondition was included in the room price and if you set it correctly, it is extremely quiet! You almost cannot hear it during night! Nice Only negative is small shower box in the bathroom, they should do it much wider during refurbishment. If I had mobility problems, this might be serius issue. And I would welcome to have paper tissues as a room standard. You can buy it in every shop, but should be 4* hotel standard. 2) Cleaning of rooms and the whole hotel is very good, every day. The cleaning ladies can adjust cleaning time based on your needs. Great! 3) Service during breakfast and dinners was excellent. There was always a good variety of food and it was refilled all the time even 10 mins before end. They have very good chef in the kitchen and all was very tasty incl.hotel dinners in very good quality. The breakfast were served between 8:00 - 10:00 and dinners from 19:00 to 21:00. 4) The service in the beach bar and on the beach is also very good. Umbrellas and sunbeds are provided for order of drinks. Soft drinks, frappe and beer was around 5 EUR, coctails around 10 EUR. Recommended food on the beach - club sadwich and cheese burger around 6EUR, all salads for 9 Eur were tasteful. I would only not recommend pizza for 10-12Eur, this was weak. 5) There is a children playground in the garden next to the garden restaurant. It has inflatable castle with slides and other playground equipment. Whole Nei Pori is focused for families with children, there are several attractions on the beach walk, there is amusement park in the city center and 20 mins walk there is a water park in Cromwell hotel. Olympic Star has no pool, but we did not required it. 6) Everyone in the hotel starting from receptionist through the waiters in the restaurant followed by the staff in the beach bar and beach boys on the beach were very positive, very nice and helpful.
